Another greenhouse bloom

Walked into the greenhouse this morning and saw a new bloom. What was interesting is that it was blooming from a seedling in the No. 38 Seed Trays. The scape was a little spindly and there were only 3 buds on it, but, heh, it is a very little seedling. The cross is from two sibs.

Pollen Parent
Seedling No. 9057

Pod Parent
Seedling No. 9046

Seedling No 1082 (Robert W Carr X Some Sweet Day) X (Robert W. Carr X Some Sweet Day)

Scapes are everywhere out in the field. With all the rain we have had this year, the foliage is lush and the scapes are as big around as I have ever seen them. I am guessing we will be early this year for bloom.

Life is very, very good.

  2. Hi hemeroca7,
I think the whole Globe is screwy this year. Where in the south of France? I have been to Paris, Nice and up to Monoco. I can remember getting lost in the flower market in Nice. Also, bought a very nice watch there . . . WOW, that was over 20 years ago. I was one of a group invited over to Nice by the Mayor for the opening of their convention center many, many years ago. Brings back great memories. The Mayor held us up 1 1/2 hours for a black tie banquet . . . guess his wife was getting ready. :-)

  3. This city, just like many in France has grown very very mutch, you won't recognize it now I think, except the "promenade des anglais" !!!

I live in a smaller city called "Sete" in middle south, near Montpellier.

    bye ;-)

  4. That is one of the most beautiful daylily pictures I have ever seen. Possibly your seedling has a lot to do with that!
