More Garden Seedlings

Except for a small bed of previous introductions, everything growing outside is in the seedling category. I would guess about 5,000 to bloom this year and really getting a bang up start. I have one large bed of seedlings to bloom the first time this year and a couple smaller beds of selected previously bloomed seedlings. There will be some from both.

The first seedling today is No. 9009, which first bloomed in 2009. I know many of you will say, "Just another yellow." Well, if yellows are your passion, this is not just another yellow, it has its own personality. A good clean color.

H. 'Spectral Elegance'
(Stamile, 2002)

Seedling No. 9009 (Spectral Elegance X Wonder Of It All)

The next seedling also first bloomed in 2009, Seedling No. 9039, a very clear colored eyed and edged seedling.

H. 'Elisa Dallas'
(Trimmer, 2004)
Pod Parent
H. 'Open My Eyes'
(Grace, 2001)
Seedling No 9039 (Open My Eyes X Elisa Dallas)

A new 2011 seedling blooming for the first time this morning was No. 1101. A gold with deep sculpting and very heavy substance and impeccable form.

That concludes today's blooms from Chattanooga Daylilies. Hope you enjoyed them.

Life is very, very good.

  1. Great seedlings today Lee, you must be very proud to have done No. 1101 with all the sculpting. Good job.

  2. Hi Dave,

I keep watching your weather up there and you have been running about as hot as we have. Where just a little west of you, well, maybe more than a little, they are having snow. Don't know which one I would rather have.
